Defining “Socialism” In The Health Care Reform Debate

I try not to dwell on my own subsequent unemployment and for the most part I am successful. The lessons have been well worth it. One person can make a difference by taking a stand and i have received letters from the Senator who assures me that she is taking this seriously and i hope this is true. The people who owned this facility own seven more throughout the state and i know from my research that this is a prevalent problem throughout the country. In starting a petition for adult care home reform in North Carolina, I have learned to be proactive and in the time it is taking to see the results of all of this, I am learning patience.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services’ Physical Activity Guide, adults from 18 to 64 should be getting in 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate exercise per week. Behold: the wondrous “concept of compromise.” After all, ethics must be decided by majority vote since in this postmodern world we have no common and accepted objective standards such as the Ten Commandments or the Word of God. So we open doors with words like “but only for a very good reason” and “except under exceptional circumstances.” And suggest that animal-human hybrid embryos may not be good things, but . . . Who decides the exceptions? The scientists performing them? And yes, there are always exceptions, good exceptions, depending, of course, on what you mean by ‘good’.

Tobacco use is the number one cause of COPD and quitting smoking is considered the best way to halt further damage. It’s estimated that as many as 10 million Americans suffer from COPD, with possibly as many as 14 million others who have it but have not been diagnosed. According to the American Cancer Society, lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for both men and women. And with 87% of all lung cancer cases involving tobacco, it is one form of cancer that is preventable, by and large.
